Find items to borrow that aren’t traditionally thought of as library materials! The Library of Things expands our collection’s range of materials for borrowing, so that community members of all ages can discover tools and materials to help them explore, learn, and connect.
Mobile Hotspots
Got WiFi-enabled devices such as tablets and laptops that you want to connect to the Internet? A WiFi hotspot is a device that allows you to connect your enabled devices (e.g. laptop, smartphones, tablets, etc.) to the internet. The hotspot is portable so you can connect your device almost wherever you go. Check out a mobile hotspot with your Library card!
Ukuleles
Have you ever dreamed of playing the ukulele? Or wished your local library had these small members of the lute family available for checkout? Now you can live your musical dreams!
S.E.E.D.S. Library
Free veggie, herb, and native plant seeds for personal use are available to “checkout” at our three Library buildings. Our mission is to bring the members of our community together and give them access to free seeds and the information they will need to grow their own plants. We hope to cultivate a flourishing network of gardeners, plant enthusiasts and avid learners who are dedicated to the sharing of seeds and knowledge.
Citizen Science Kits
Citizen Science Kits are available for checkout at Lexington Park Library! Citizen Science is ordinary people of any age gathering scientific information locally and sharing it with the global scientific community. Whether you are participating in star finding, birdwatching, sharing pictures from your backyard to help track plant and species populations, or taking a walk in your neighborhood with an air monitor, you can contribute!
