POSITION: Children’s Librarian Assistant, 21 hours per week for 10 weeks
CLOSING DATE: 11:59 p.m. on May 20, 2021
LOCATION: Lexington Park Library
SALARY: $11.75 per hour
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Assists children and teens in using Library resources
- Assists with storytimes
- Develops early learning activities and hand-outs
- Assists with Summer Reading Program activities, including online and in-person, socially distanced programs
REQUISITES:
- 18 years or older, with an interest in careers that involve Early Childhood and Early Literacy
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work with youth of all ages, especially young children
- Excellent communication skills, both in writing and orally
- Experience in or an interest in learning about video content creation and editing
- Work requires light physical effort in the handling of materials or boxes in non-strenuous work positions not to exceed 30 pounds and/or standing and/or walking 75%+ of the time
