Stop by and make your own reusable bag from a t-shirt! This no-sew technique is the perfect way to give an old t-shirt a new life! Participants are invited to bring in their own t-shirt to transform or choose from the selection we have available. No registration required; walk-ins welcome throughout the day.

Learn how to create a native plant bird buffet in your own backyard or patio! Southern Maryland Audubon President and Master Gardener Molly Moore will show you how to start or expand a native plant garden and will offer tips on selecting the best natives for your yard and your favorite birds and pollinators. Save the World Before Bedtime: A Crash Course in Everyday Environmentalism

How can we do our part to make the air and water cleaner? How can we protect the plants and animals under threat from pollution and overdevelopment? And how do we do this with a 9-5 job??? Join Ben Hance, Group Chair of the Southern Maryland Sierra Club, and learn about balancing the requirements of everyday life with the allure of being an environmental champion. Small actions can have a big impact, and that may be all we have time for. This talk will cover the many ways that any member of the community can be educated, engaged, and effective in making Southern Maryland a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable home for all.

Join us to explore the ever-evolving landscape of sustainable energy and learn how it can help power our future while reducing our carbon footprint. A student-built 3D-model of a home using all four of these renewable energy sources will be available to enlighten participants.
